On Jeep JK builds running a drop tailgate, the factory hinge cutouts in the rear corners are no longer needed. Leaving those openings in place creates a broken body line and an unfinished look.
The Motobilt MB1137-T rear corner armor is designed to eliminate those cutouts, giving the rear of the Jeep a clean and continuous panel. This version is intended specifically for builders running a drop tailgate who want a cleaner finish.
Like the standard version, this corner armor replaces the factory sheet metal with 3/16 inch steel for improved durability and protection. It also features an integrated recessed tail light housing designed for Motobilt MB6504 5 inch round tail lights.
A dedicated pocket below the tail light includes a Baja Designs S1 light for auxiliary reverse lighting. This setup keeps the lights protected and improves rear visibility when needed.
An aluminum trim ring surrounds the tail light and can be customized to match the build, adding a finished look to the rear of the vehicle.
This version is designed for builders who want a clean rear profile without factory hinge cutouts while still gaining protection and upgraded lighting.
