Product Description
SpeedStrap 2" Heavy Duty Through-The-Wheel Lasso Tie Down
SpeedStrap’s 2″ x 10′ Through the Wheel Lasso Tie-Down is a great way to lock the wheels of your vehicle down to the trailer. They hold the tire down tight to the trailer, and can be used on almost any size tire. Rated at 3,333 lb Safe Working Load (SWL) and a 10,000 lb Maximum Rated Capacity (MRC), these 2″ tie-downs are built with the highest quality. Each premium ratchet mechanism features our signature, wide handle, comfort grip to protect your hands from burning or freezing on bare metal. The finely tuned barrel ensures a smooth ratcheting action. When the ratchet handle is all the way open it automatically releases and loosens the tension on the tie down. When the ratchet handle is all the way closed, it actually locks in place (so it cant get knocked open or come loose on accident). The twisted hook on the end is reinforced, and has a built in retention clip so it will always stay hooked on. Each strap is made of durable water and UV resistant polyester. These are the last tie-downs that you’ll ever need!
- Allows your Jeep, Truck, or Buggy to still naturally float on its suspension

WHY USE THROUGH THE WHEEL LASSO TIE DOWNS?
Regular tie-downs that connect to the frame or bumper are not always the ideal way to secure your vehicle. As you travel down the road, the vehicle will still float up and down on the suspension. This can cause any tie-downs attached to the frame to loosen and tighten as the vehicle moves. The best solution to avoid this is to attach directly to the tires (which have almost no movement, since they are grounded to the trailer). Through-the-Wheel Tie-Downs run through the wheel & tire, keeping the vehicle secure and grounded to the trailer for the duration of your journey. While still allowing the vehicle to naturally float on its suspension.
HOW IT WORKS
Through the Wheel – Take the strap end of the tie-down and run it through the wheel, then feed it through the D-Ring, and then back into the ratchet barrel. Pull tight and ratchet the tire down tight to your trailer. The tie-down creates a loop that tightens against the wheel, and can fit pretty much any size tire. Since you’re only running the strap webbing through the wheel, it can work with almost any style of spokes (unlike a metal hook which may not fit, or can scratch your wheel). You can then run two lasso straps on the front wheels going forward, and two lassos on the rear wheels going backwards.
Over the Tire – On some standard vehicles where the fenders are close to the tires you may not have enough clearance to get the tie-down set up through the wheel. In which case most users mount the tie-down next to the side of the wheel and wrap the strap over and around the back side of the tire, creating a lasso. SpeedStraps Lasso Tie Downs can be used in this way but it is not as ideal as running the strap towards the front or back through the wheels, as it does not absorb as much of the force of sudden braking and puts more stress on the wheel & axle components.
