Product Description
PSC XD Cylinder Assist Steering Gear (Wrangler JK 2007-2018)
If you're running big tires, lockers, or just pushing your Jeep JK/JKU harder than stock, PSC offers two serious upgrades for your steering system: the Cylinder Assist® Steering Gear and the Replacement Gear. Both are engineered for 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK/JKU models and built to handle the demands of off-road abuse and oversized tires.
The Cylinder Assist® Gear is the strongest, most capable bolt-on gear available, designed for those planning to run a full assist system. The Replacement Gear is a heavy-duty, non-assist option for drivers who want improved steering performance without adding hydraulic assist.
- 35% more turning power than stock when paired with a PSC pump kit
- Built-in ports for Cylinder Assist®—no mods needed
- Includes PSC’s proprietary Pitman arm for the larger sector shaft
- Handles tires up to 35" without assist, and even more with it
- Reinforced case and mounting pad for extreme durability
Why You'll Love the Replacement Steering Gear
- Direct bolt-in upgrade for worn-out or underperforming factory gears
- PSC-tuned internals for smoother steering and better road feel
- Ideal for Jeeps with up to 35" tires not running assist
- Compatible with factory-style steering setups
Notes:
** Cylinder Assist® Gear requires a high-flow/high-pressure pump (PSC recommends PK38JP1 or PK36JP1)
*** Both gears weigh ~57 lbs—use proper lifting tools or grab a buddy
**** If using a Synergy MFG Track Bar Brace, you’ll need the HWK-688-PP Bolt Kit (110mm). Factory or PSC-supplied bolts may cause case failure with certain aftermarket braces
***** Supplied Pitman arm has no additional drop—some setups may need a drag link flip kit
