• 5052 aluminum main panel — chosen deliberately. It forms without cracking and keeps its strength through the weld. Alloys that win on a datasheet give much of it back at every weld seam; ours doesn't.
• Steel-reinforced hinge and bracket points. The hybrid approach - Steel where it pivots and carries load, aluminum everywhere else. It's also why ours carries ~20% more metal than the competition — weight spent exactly where drop-down tailgates fail.
