Builders working on Jeep JL, JLU, and Gladiator JT platforms quickly run into clearance and airflow limitations in the factory wheel well design. The stock plastic inner fenders leave limited room for larger tires and restrict airflow through the engine bay, which becomes more noticeable during slow speed trail driving and rock crawling.
The Motobilt High Clearance Front Inner Fenders replace the factory plastic liners with a formed aluminum design that increases tire clearance while maintaining protection for the engine compartment. The higher clearance profile provides additional room for suspension up travel and larger tire packages, helping prevent tire interference during articulation.
The MB1243-M version adds a large center ventilation panel along with the two outer vents used in the standard design. This expanded ventilation area allows significantly more airflow through the engine bay. Improved airflow can help reduce heat buildup during low speed crawling, long trail days, and demanding off-road environments where engine bay temperatures can rise.
These inner fenders are designed specifically for builders running factory style suspension systems, including Mojave Gladiator shocks. Because the center section is vented, this version is not intended to be trimmed for coilover shock tower installations.
The aluminum panels also create a clean, customizable appearance inside the wheel well. Many builders choose to powder coat or paint the mesh and panels in contrasting colors to highlight the vented design.
