Not sure what you need?
You feel it when the front suspension cycles without fighting the engine bay. The shock stands where it should. Travel is usable. Nothing is being forced around factory buckets that no longer belong there.
Once the JK moves past factory springs and short shocks, the stock front shock and spring buckets become the limit. Proper coilover placement requires height, clearance, and structure in the right place. These towers exist to replace the factory buckets and give the front suspension a layout that actually supports longer travel.
With the factory shock and spring buckets removed, the MB1553 towers allow the coilover to mount cleanly above the axle. When the lower shock tab is placed on top of the axle, the towers support a 12 inch coilover. When paired with MB2198, they support a 14 inch coilover. The result is controlled motion through the suspension cycle without interference from engine bay components or brake hardware.
Notes:
** Installation requires removal of the factory shock and spring bucket. No engine bay components need to be relocated. Only trimming of the plastic ribs on the factory trays is required. Axle width is critical. Factory width axles will place the shock too vertical or cause caliper contact. These towers are intended for experienced builders setting up long travel front suspension.
