The TeraFlex Heavy Duty Adjustable Tire Carrier & Tailgate Reinforcement Kit is designed specifically for your Jeep Wrangler JK and can carry up to a 37" tire over the most extreme trails and obstacles. This mount provides easy and immediate access to the rear cargo area with a single action. The kit spreads the load and weight of the tire to more than one hinge point giving you maximum strength and durability. The fit is designed to follow the flow of your JK and provides additional mounting points for a recovery jack and fluid containers. The combination of mounting location and heavy duty mounting brackets provides one of the strongest, rattle-free tire carriers out on the market to date!

I installed this a few months ago, and so far it has held up great! It holds my 35" tire on the back, and is very sturdy. No more lifting the gate to shut it like I had to with factory hinges and full-size spare. It is pricey, but well worth every penny!

Great quality and easy to install. The gate on my Jkur closes smoother than factory and now feels solid. Your factory tire carrier should not be overlooked when installing larger tires on your Jeep especially if you do any sort of wheeling. This carrier is amazing. So glad I went with a flush mount style instead of one hinged to a bumper, or a caged carrier. Looks clean. One touch opening of the tailgate. Easy install. Built like a tank. Reinforces the whole tailgate. Zero rattle. What's not to like?
Solid and well constructed. Relatively straight forward install. Holds my 37 inch tire firmly to the tailgate.
The hinge is very solid, and the tailgate does not budge when opened and closed. I like not having a 2 step process every time I open the back gate.
No more rattling from the tailgate and the instructions plus YouTube videos are very helpful for installation. One thing that is not mentioned anywhere in their instructions or videos is that if you plan on using an OEM wheel plus oversized tire then you will need a wheel spacer. If you don't use a whee spacer then you will have ratting/squeaking from the tire carrier.
