This kit adapts a 2018 - 2024 Dana 44 / M220 (Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and Gladiator ) rear axle to accept brake calipers with an integrated electric parking brake. The brake calipers are sourced from a 2022-2024 Grand Cherokee (fits most 17” wheels) and a large vented or solid disc rotor. Depending on preference, you can choose either the 14mm thick, 325mm diameter rotors and corresponding calipers, or the 22mm thick, 350mm diameter vented rotors and corresponding calipers. This kit is a perfect solution for those looking to upgrade the parking brake holding strength after upgrading to larger tires. Additionally, its also greatly simplifies axle swaps for those looking to put a Wrangler / Gladiator axle under another vehicle and avoid the pain of trying to get the mechanical pull cables to work correctly. We even incorporate mounting provisions for JK ABS sensors since putting these axles under a Jeep JK is an increasingly popular swap.
You will need to supply the rotors and calipers and wire (make sure the rotor and caliper are for the same application since the vented and solid rotors have different diameters and thicknesses)
The advantage of the electric parking brake is obvious if you have ever adapted a mechanical one before- It is much easier to route electrical wires than adapt heavy pull cables, and make sure leverage ratios work together. And the holding power of the electric calipers is superb, extremely reliable, and easy to operate. There is a reason most modern vehicles now use them.
