You’ve lifted your JL or JT, slapped on 37s or bigger, and now your steering feels like a workout — this kit’s your fix.
PSC’s legendary BIG BORE XD Cylinder Assist Steering Kits are built to handle the extra load and torque that come with oversized tires, beefed-up axles, and all the gear you’ve bolted on. Whether you’re aired down and off-roading, towing, or just daily driving and mall crawling, this is a critical upgrade that’ll make your Jeep steer like it should.
We bumped the stock 70mm piston to a beefy 80mm for more torque, and upgraded the sector shaft from 42mm to 45mm to eliminate the all-too-common shear problem. Don’t trust sensors and computers to decide how much pressure you need? Good — this kit includes a belt-driven, mechanical pump that puts you in control.
Every kit comes complete with a steering gear, pump, pre-fab hose assemblies, fluid cooler, PSC’s 715 Power Steering Fluid, and your choice of a Tie Rod Clamp or No-Weld Brackets for unmodified factory axles and tie rods.
Running factory or aftermarket axles? Third-party tie rod? No problem. Just pick the right axle travel length (6.75", 7.5", or 8.0") and clamp size to match your setup — and you’re good to go.

*** You'll need a 46mm socket for the pitman arm nut
**** Measure your axles actual steering travel before ordering
***** Check the outside diameter of your tie rod to make sure you're ordering the right clamp
****** Use pneumatic anaerobic thread sealant to help prevent leaks and keep fittings tight under vibration
******* If you're running a Synergy MFG track bar brace (or similar), you must add the HWK-689-PP bolt kit. Do not use the factory or PSC supplied 90mm bolts with this type of brace- it can lead to catastrophic gear case failure
******** The larger XD steering gear may not clear some aftermarket track bars
