If you’re running big tires and your JL’s steering feels like a workout, this kit’s your fix. The BIG BORE XD Cylinder Assist Steering Kit is built to handle the abuse of off-roading and the demands of daily driving. It’s got the muscle to turn those tires with ease and the durability to keep you wheeling without worry.

We upgraded the stock 70 mm piston to a beefy 80mm for more torque, bumped the sector shaft from 42 mm to 45 mm for added strength, and swapped out the factory electric pump for a reliable belt-driven mechanical one. You get everything you need in one box—steering gear, pump, hoses, cooler, fluid, and your choice of tie rod clamp size.

Whether you’re crawling rocks or cruising pavement, this kit delivers smooth, confident steering that feels right.

- Big Bore XD-JL steering gear box
- High flow mechanical pump conversion kit
- JL reservoir kit
- Upgraded high pressure hose assembly
- Upgraded return line
- Steering assist cylinder kit with hardware
- Fluid cooler kit
- SWEPCO 715 power steering fluid
- Necessary hardware
- Installation instructions

  • Eliminates excessive on-center steering wheel "play"
  • Eliminates electro-hydraulic pump overheating
  • Increased Torque Output turns tire sizes over 35"
  • Improved turning capability when locking differentials are engaged

Notes:
** You'll need a 46mm socket for the pitman arm nut and a puller to remove it/
*** Caster gauge and tie rod end puller make installation smoother
**** Use pneumatic anaerobic thread sealant for leak-free install
***** If you're running a Synergy MFG Track Bar brace (or similar), you must add HWK-688-PP and SYN-8869-10. Using factory or PSC standard bolts with that brace could cause gear case failure.
****** The larger size of the Big Bore XD2 steering gear may not clear some aftermarket track bars
