The MetalCloak RockSport Slate Rear Shocks share the same valving as our classic Red twin-tube shocks; they are engineered for strength, reliability, and consistent performance with a great new look. Designed to pair perfectly with MetalCloak’s suspension systems, these shocks deliver the balance of comfort and control you need. The RockSport Slate shocks provides long travel and a softer ride.
The twin-tube construction of the RockSport Slate features an inner working tube and outer reserve gas tube. The outer housing tube provides a safety barrier for the inside tube and protects it from outside damage; this allows the piston a smooth surface to slide on that gives consistent and controlled damping.
The RockSport Slate shocks are equipped with oversized 18mm chrome-plated shafts. The larger diameter improves resistance to bending or damage when the suspension is under heavy load, such as during rock crawling or sudden drops. The chrome finish reduces friction and wear, ensuring long service life and reliable performance in even the harshest off-road conditions.
Double-welded bushing eyes reinforce the shock ends, helping them withstand the impacts of aggressive off-road driving. The natural rubber bushings provide the ideal combination of strength and flexibility, absorbing vibration and road harshness while maintaining solid mounting points for long-term durability.
A nitrogen charge minimizes aeration and foaming in the hydraulic fluid, a common cause of inconsistent damping. By keeping the oil and gas separate, the shocks maintain steady, predictable performance over rough terrain.
Built-in outboard upper mounts ensure proper alignment, optimal articulation, and maximum clearance for your suspension system. This integration simplifies installation while delivering a precise fit and trail-ready performance.
The RockSport Slate shocks are designed as an engineered system component, valved specifically to work with MetalCloak’s True Dual Rate Coils. The result is a ride that balances on-road comfort with full off-road articulation and control.
