Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited: Hard Top Exposed!

The fine folks over at JL Wrangler Forums spied the heavily camouflaged 2018 Jeep Wrangler JLU and were able to snap a photo of what could be the new hard top design.

The exposed top looks like it's a 3 piece design; two small panels above the driver and front passenger and a larger one-piece rear top panel that begins at the end of the front door and extends back. Because the Jeep is still partially covered, it's unclear whether the rear panel extended all the way to the tailgate.

Although the hard top looks extremely similar to the current JK Freedom Top, JL Forum writers pointed out that the new roof panels seem to end abruptly 6-8" from the doors. Could this mean the rumors of the new, more-permanent roof are true?
